Northwoods Gardening

with Andy Hill

Only 3 days left to register!

Northwoods Gardening
Monday, September 24
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM

Tuition: $20

Learn how to make the most out of our short Northern gardening season while implementing sustainable living practices. The classes will be held at Andy Hill's property where he will demonstrate organic procedures, drip irrigation, weed suppression, protection from critters, and methods of fertilizing without using pesticides or herbicides.

You will see a grow house constructed from salvage material and using no green treated lumber. Come prepared to get your hands dirty as you learn how to prepare, develop and harvest your garden. Bring a notebook and/or camera as well as your own ideas and enthusiasm to share with others. Students signing up for all five classes will also receive a 50' row to plant with seeds of their choice and will be able to harvest their bounty. This will require a commitment of giving some intermediate care.

About the instructor: Andy Hill has been implementing creative sustainable living practices in his off-the-grid homestead and loves to share ideas and knowledge with others. He promises there will be no secrets! Andy has taught Sustainable Living classes and Northwoods Gardening at the folk school since its inception, and students appreciate his deep knowledge as a gardener and his positive and helpful teaching style.
