with Kim Garrett

Tuition: $80 Materials: $20
Rosemaling means “rose or flower painting” in Norwegian. The Norwegian Folk-art of Rosemaling began around 1750. This class will focus on the Os style, which originated in the Os region in western coastal Norway, known for its fanciful flowers and bright colors, making it quite different from many of the other styles of rosemaling.
We will start by learning the basic strokes of rosemaling, progress through color mixing and working with oil paints, and finally paint your own design to bring home or give as a gift.
About the Instructor: Kim Garrett has studied this traditional Scandinavian craft with American master painters and Norwegian rosemaling instructors both here and in Norway since 2007 and has created several award-winning pieces. Her creations won two blue ribbons and Best of Show at the 2018 Minnesota State Fair! Congrats, Kim!
