Night Hike for Kids!
with SunShine Gardner
Sunday, February 7, 2021
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM
This night hike focuses on exploring the woods at night, listening for animals, and starting a fire in the dark. If the sky is clear, we will also look at and learn about different constellations. We'll slide down snowy hills, roast marshmallows, and share some stories. Come prepared to have a lot of fun, to laugh a lot, and learn about our backyard!
Recommended for kids 10+ wearing clothing appropriate for the weather.
About the Instructor: My name is Benjamin Gardner, but most people call me SunShine. I have spent the past four years working for Karen Pick at Widjiwagan playing outside with kids of all ages. Sliding down snowy hills and stomping up frozen creeks are all part of a great day in my book, and my classes reflect that. Besides teaching, I love Nordic skiing and other endurance sports so much that I have run the portage marathon for the past two years.
As the instructor I will always have a pack with a first aid kit, extra warm layers, a head lamp, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, some sort of allergen free snack, and a tarp.
